LocalDiff.dev is designed with privacy as a fundamental principle. Your text and code data never leaves your browser. All diff comparisons, merges, and text processing happen entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript.

What Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not upload, store, or transmit any text or code you paste into the tool
• We do not log the content of your comparisons
• We do not have access to your clipboard
• We do not store file contents from uploaded files

AI Features (Optional)

If you choose to use optional AI-powered features (smart merge, diff summarization), only the specific text chunks involved in that operation are sent to the Google Gemini API through our server-side proxy. This data is not stored by us and is subject to Google's API terms.

Analytics and Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand general usage patterns (page views, session duration). We use cookies only with your consent via our cookie consent banner. You can opt out at any time.

Advertising

We display ads via Google AdSense to support the free service. AdSense may use cookies to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history, subject to your cookie consent preferences.

Local Storage

We use your browser's localStorage to save your preferences (theme, usage count). This data stays in your browser and is never transmitted to any server.
